WANA (Apr 18) – The President of Iran emphasized that with the presence of the army and the armed forces, the country can assert its positions and engage in dialogue to promote peace and security in the region from a position of strength.

Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking this morning at Iran’s Army Day parade, stated: The army is a solid fortress for the government and the nation, a source of honor for society, and an ornament to the guardianship system. The presence of these brave individuals ensures the country’s peace and stability. Without the army’s strength, security and calm would vanish from society.

He continued: Thanks to the army and armed forces, we can firmly express our positions and engage in dialogue to create peace and security in the region. We have introduced ourselves as an undeniable power in the region through the honor brought by the army and the IRGC.

The President noted: There has been no deviation in the structural path of the army. The hierarchy, ranks, and positions have been preserved—thanks to Imam Khomeini’s order to prevent the army’s dissolution. In the early days of the revolution, enemies tried to dismantle the army to push forward their conspiracies. But the army stood firm and offered over 48,000 martyrs in the war. It also gave over 200,000 veterans during the imposed war. This proves the army’s presence on all fronts. Without their sacrifice, the enemy would have aimed to conquer the country and destroy the revolution—but the army disturbed their dreams.

He added: In the early days of the Islamic Revolution, the army’s equipment was dependent on foreign powers. But today, we are proud that the army has made great strides in building and developing the tools needed for defense—including aerial, ground, naval, and drone technologies. Our army has successfully accessed the technologies essential for national defense.

Pezeshkian continued: The army is an unmatched supporter of the government and the people. In times of natural disasters, it has always stood by the people. The armed forces serve the nation without seeking recognition. We are grateful for their presence. Their efforts toward self-sufficiency have brought pride to our nation. The transfer of military-acquired technologies to industry and academia has helped our country progress.

The Iranian President concluded by stressing that: The enemy has no ability to infiltrate our army. We are thankful for the courageous and selfless commanders and the dedicated, people-oriented forces of the army. The people and the army stand side by side, thwarting the enemy’s plots and driving them to despair.
